Slay the Spire – An Early Game of the Year Contender

This week on the Lost Spark Podcast James and Antony take to the mics to chat about the games they have been playing this week and the latest news from the world of gaming.

Also this week James talks about his recent trip to GuardianCon, crocheting a NES controller and his new personal challenge, Ecobricks.  Ecobricks is a great way of collecting and repurposing unrecyclable plastics and turning them in building blocks.  Hear James’ awesome plans for an Ecobrick bench-slash-planter in the shape of the Rare golden R.

In ‘What We’ve Been Playing’ James has an early ‘Game of the Year’ contender with Slay the Spire, a new roguelike-like deck-building card game from Mega Crit Games out now on PC and Nintendo Switch.  James has also been dabbling in Griftlands on PC, Dr. Mario World on Mobile and the Bridge Constructor Portal on Xbox via Xbox Game Pass.  Antony has been continuing his nerd-quest through Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 and enjoying the adorable Riverbond, the new voxel based shoot-and-slash game on Xbox Game Pass.

Oculus Quest and E3 Leaks-a-plenty

This week on the Lost Spark Podcast James and Antony chat about all the latest leaks that have started to appear as we gear up for E3 2019.  We have news about the next Call of Duty, lots of Ubisoft news, including the rumour regarding “Ubisoft Pass Premium”, an all you can eat Ubisoft subscription service and news of the Nintendo direct for Pokemon Sword and Shield coming next week.

Antony talks about his experience with the Oculus Quest, Beat Sabre and Team Sonic Racing on the Switch.  James reports in from Halopalooza and has been diving back into some Rare classics with Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts and Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise.  Both of which spark memories for the guys as they recall their first time playing these amazing games.

Which Pokemon Switch Rumour Do You Choose?

It’s our 3rd Podiversary! To celebrate this milestone Steve and Antony are on mic duties to talk about the week’s gaming news, this week we have more pre-E3 rumours with Pokemon Switch leaks sprouting up everywhere.

Also in the news section with have all the news about the upcoming Mario Tennis Aces beta weekend and sad news of some 2018 delays; adding to the list of games getting out of the way of Red Dead 2 is Metro Exodus, Shemnue 3 and Final Fantasy7 Remake, the last of which is REALLY getting out of the way with fresh rumours that the game will be completed in 2023!

Hands-on impressions include Far Cry 5 and Forza 7 from Steve and Lego Marvel 2 from Antony.
