Delays, Delays, Delays

This week on the Lost Spark Podcast Stuart and Antony are back to discuss the delays that have hit some key titles in 2020; what does this mean for the start of the year? How does this affect the next generation of consoles and can they remember to the quote from Shigeru Miyamoto about a delayed game (spoiler: NOPE!).

In the hands-on section this week Stuart recounts his epic achievement hunt over Christmas, playing a whopping 11 games and bumping his gamer score by 17,000 points!!  This week Antony has been deep into the city-building survival game, Frostpunk and the incredibly impactful Sea of Solitude, now available on EA Access.

Lost Spark Game of the Year 2019

It’s here, it’s the Lost Spark game of the year 2019 podcast!  This week James, Steve and Antony run through their top 3 games of the year, discuss the highs and lows of 2019 and try to predict what’s ahead in 2020.

Also in the hands-on section this week the guys recap the games they played and bunny forts they built (well James did) over the Christmas break.  James has discovered a game that scratches the Pokemon Snap itch he didn’t know he had, Toripon and also jumps back into Jurassic World Evolution to play the new Jurassic Park expansion.  He also talks about his time with Outer Wilds, a game that took a while to get there but has really hooked him and the rest of the Sparks.

Steve has been jumping into God of War, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Luigi’s Mansion and Antony has been decorating up a storm with Tool’s Up and platforming around the world with Yooka Laylee.

First Look At Xbox Series X

In our final Lost Spark Podcast of 2019 Stuart and Antony take to the mics to talk about the arrival of the next Xbox, Xbox Series X.  This week the guys talk about the Game Awards announcement, the specs and just how awesome it looks!

Hands-on this week include more Demon’s Tilt as the leaderboard battles heat up and Stuart has previews of both  Tool’s Up, the Overcooked style DIY game and Terminator: Resistance.  Antony is up to mischief in the Untitled Goose Game, now available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox Game Pass.

A Decade Of Gaming Awesomeness

As we get closer to the end of 2019 and the end of this decade James and Antony take a moment to reminisce through the years and pick their ultimate game of the decade.

Hands-on this week include the new obsession that is sweeping through the Sparks and that is the mighty Demon’s Tilt, a demonic take on pinball that has already started a leaderboard battle to end all leaderboard battles.

James has also been Luigi’s Mansion 3 (of course), Death Stranding and during his deliberation for game of the decade remembered a classic stand-out game, Gunpoint.  Also to round off James’ list of games he has jumped into Ori and the Blind Forest and Guacamelee 2.

Antony rounds off the hands-on section with Halo Reach as he takes the 4K HDR version of this outstanding Halo title for a spin.

Celebrating 25 Years Of PlayStation

This week on the Lost Spark Podcast Stuart and Antony are celebrating 25 glorious years of the PlayStation with a look back over favourite consoles, first games and favourite PlayStation games of all time (we cheat just a little).

Hands-on reviews this week include a post-credit grumpy (because it’s over) review of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order from Stuart.  Antony talks about his time so far with Pokemon Sword and he has jumped back into Forza Horizon 4 to fill the Forza-less hole that’s in this year of gaming.

In the news this week Mario Maker 2 get a surprise update, Resident Evil 3 box art has been leaked and an iconic map returns to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Death Stranding Reviews Are In

Hands-On With Marvel’s Avengers At EGX 2019

This week on the Lost Spark Podcast Stuart and Antony take to the mics to report on this year’s EGX and the awesome games they managed to see during the day.  We have hands-on with Marvel’s Avengers, Circuit Superstars, a great 4-player local and online racing game, Moving Out, a game that has Overcooked levels of craziness and the guys got to see the 45 minutes gameplay demo of Cyberpunk 2077.
