Rising Resolutions – is Rise of the Tomb Raider leading a new 1080p renaissance for Xbox One?

TombRaider

In this week’s podcast the Sparks are wowed at the news that Rise of the Tomb Raider (and some other upcoming gaming gems) will be in full 1080p and chat about how this could be the beginning of a new dawn for Xbox One.

Darren dips his toes into online Rocket League and is having a blast while Antony is still honing his skills offline.

We also discuss who’s getting Star Wars Battlefront first, and if EA Access can sway fans into subscribing, even if it’s just for one month and the Sparks are amazed at a Bloodborne fan’s astonishingly detailed explanation for this incredible game.

In the new games section the Sparks talk about the larger than life Tembo The Badass Elephant (is this the best gaming title ever!?) and ask (and lament), where all the PSN and Xbox Live demos have gone?

Another 360 game running at 1080p on Xbone? No, no it is not leading anything, there are plenty of those. Well a few of those. Actually about 5. Last gen games like Thief, MK X, Far Cry 4, The Evil Within, Assassins Creed IV, COD games still can’t pull it off. Wonder how Unreal Engine 4 and actual stunning looking next gen games are going to fair on the console.

Games can be 1080p on Xbox and even Wii U if the developers simplify the graphics and mechanics.
The question is if the multiplatform developers are going for parity or the best possible game.
